When I was a younger lad I went there with my dad The farris wheel it was so rad So tall and colored brightly The rides, man they went so fast The animals and the circus acts The clowns and all the acrobats I wished it'd last forever Each year we'd come back to this place This fair, surrounded by the Great Lakes State Where we'd make some memories Have us a blast Pass traditions on down to the next We're here for a good time But not a long time We just grab some great food And Catch some tunes and Enjoy The Ride As summer turns to fall We gather here, one and all On these grounds to have a ball Where differences don't matter We come together, Black red and white Religions are all set aside Underneath this awesome sky We stand brother to brother Each year we'd come back to this place This fair, surrounded by the Great Lakes State Where we'd make some memories Have us a blast Pass traditions on down to the next We're here for a good time But not a long time We just grab some great food And Catch some tunes and Enjoy The Ride With diverse harvests, and livestock Diverse neighbors coming together Don't let the world divide us What's different makes us stronger Each year we'd come back to this place This fair, surrounded by the Great Lakes State Where we'd make some memories Have us a blast Pass traditions on down to the next We're here for a good time But not a long time We just grab some great food And Catch some tunes and Enjoy The Ride We just grab some great food And catch some tunes and Enjoy The Ride

If you watch the news Left or right don't matter They all pick fights, Say we're headed for disaster Well I'm here to tell you it ain't so Step outside, change that feed, and come to know That there is good in the world And good deeds being done There are people who care Willing to lend a helping hand We are one An old man loses hope, He's desperate and alone Prays night and day for salvation He's all but given in, Thinks no one is listening As he falls down to his knees But there is good in the world And good deeds being done There are people who care Willing to lend a helping hand We are one From the guy who chips in when you're short To the woman always paying forward Good deeds happen in the background Good deeds small and good deeds great make the world a better place Be inspired to help out 'Cause there is good in the world And good deeds being done There are people who care Willing to lend a helping hand We are one There is good in the world And good deeds being done There are people who care Willing to lend a helping hand We are one, we belong, we are one.

Can't help yourself from dreaming And Reaching for the sky Can't help yourself from trying Night after night Though you stumble and fall That doesn't matter at all You do it over and over again Can't help yourself from picking up the pieces And giving it another go Can't help yourself from trying to make it work Despite the looks folks throw your way Most aren't like you at all They fail before they can start That's what makes you special 'Cause the world belongs to the dreamers The few, the proud the brave The world belongs to the dreamers Who are willing to stand up for what they believe Can't help yourself from working On those goals more than once in a while Can't help yourself from planning For a future that's looking bright Taking one step at a time With your eyes open wide Willing to do more than try 'Cause the world belongs to the dreamers The few, the proud the brave The world belongs to the dreamers Who are willing to stand up for what they believe Can't help yourself from moving forward Can't help yourself from becoming more 'Cause the world belongs to the dreamers The few, the proud the brave The world belongs to the dreamers Who are willing to stand up for what they believe

Not Anymore 04:21
I woke up, stubbed my toe again On the toy that the dog left when He walked out, just like you You broke my heart and tore out in a cloud of dust Nothing left but the memory of us When bills came, I did a double take All maxed out, and you're to blame Don't make enough to make it through That repo man, you know that he's cleaning house Nothing left, but the memory of us The couch where we'd cuddle and laugh all night The bed where we would make sweet love They're gone, long gone The kitchenette, with meals prepared The living room, friends everywhere We had it all, guess I was wrong You don't get to come 'round here Not anymore My bud called, he saw you again Seemed happy with my best friend You hurt me, and he did too Still can't believe how cheap you thought our love was worth Nothing left, but the memory of us The couch where we'd cuddle and laugh all night The bed where we would make sweet love They're gone, long gone The kitchenette, with meals prepared The living room, friends everywhere We had it all, guess I was wrong You don't get to come 'round here Not anymore I'm moving on, I'm moving out It'll take a while to sort out this pain Here it comes again Gonna find someone new Someone I can hold on to Learn to love again, heal this pain Forget about the two of us Memories don't matter much The couch where we'd cuddle and laugh all night The bed where we would make sweet love They're gone, long gone The kitchenette, with meals prepared The living room, friends everywhere We had it all, guess I was wrong You don't get to come 'round here Not anymore

That Chair 04:23
That old rocking chair beside the crib I used it like so many other fathers did A babe in the arms, Just rocking the night away Humming songs from the radio And telling stories, every tale I'd known Whatever it took to let his mama sleep the night away A constant companion All but alone in the near dark Me and my child And that chair of wood and bark Just the two of us In that chair That old rocking chair beside the door I used it like so many fathers before me That boy out too late And I was just rocking the night away Strumming songs on this old guitar Passed the time hoping he wouldn't come to harm Whatever it took to let his mama sleep the night away A constant companion Sitting alone in the near dark Me and my thoughts And that chair of wood and bark Looked like I'd be up all night in that chair That old rocking chair in the corner of a dorm room Keeping company in the wee hours of the morning Caffeine and books, and studying way too late But in time, a child will come along A generation to follow The cycle will continue With that old rocking chair beside the crib He'll use it like so many other fathers did A babe in the arms, rocking the night away He'll hum songs from the radio And tell stories, every tale he knows Whatever it takes to let his wife sleep the night away A constant companion All but alone in the near dark He and his child And that chair of wood and bark Just the two of them He and his kin Just the two of them In that chair

Never saw you coming, didn't have a clue But now there's nothing I won't do To keep you by my side Walked down the aisle, stood side by side Said I do, didn't know what we were in for I'm in love, sweet love Like a hurricane is just a little wind And I can't wait to have you back again Each time that we part it breaks my heart Like the deepest sea is just a little wet A love like ours we can't regret If it lasts a moment or a lifetime So glad you're mine With two kids now and getting older We take our time while they get bolder It's funny from this side I'm in love, sweet love Like a hurricane is just a little wind And I can't wait to have you back again Each time that we part it breaks my heart Like the deepest sea is just a little wet A love like ours we can't regret If it lasts a moment or a lifetime So glad you're mine Before I met you I had blinders on all the time Didn't know what I'd been missing, was too blind to see But now you're hear with all the kindness of our true love The years roll on unending though it feels like just a day I'm in love, sweet love Like a hurricane is just a little wind And I can't wait to have you back again Each time that we part it breaks my heart Like the deepest sea is just a little wet A love like ours we can't regret If it lasts a moment or a lifetime So glad you're mine I'm in love, sweet love Like a hurricane is just a little wind And I can't wait to have you back again Each time that we part it breaks my heart Like the deepest sea is just a little wet A love like ours we can't regret If it lasts a moment or a lifetime So glad you're mine I'm in love, sweet love, So glad you're mine

about

This 2018, 6 track EP release is the result of countless hours of writing and performing, and is a direct result of the feedback that you, the fans, have given during shows.

Songs include:

My Michigan State Fair themed song, Enjoy The Ride, which seeks to capture the joy and family traditions I've come to know following three consecutive years as a Superstar Semifinalist.

There Is Good, which came about following a surprising gesture of good will, in which an individual thought he had lost everything, only to discover miracles do happen in the form of a group of folks banding together to make a difference.

Can't Help Yourself, written during one of the marathon songwriting challenges is another anthem of positivity, celebrating the drive to succeed.

Not Anymore is a song of heartbreak, and moving forward to find something better.

That Chair is a very personal song. It directly resulted from a local songwriting competition, in which we were tasked with writing a song with Chair in the title. The chair I chose was the one I spent countless hours in, rocking our first born to sleep while my wife could recover, and the journey that chair may still make.

Finally, So Glad You're Mine is a celebration of love, and the joy of finding that person you connect with, who changes your world.

The songs vary from stripped down acoustic renditions to full arrangements. If you've attended my shows, you'll have doubtless heard these selections. I count myself blessed to have had people reach out to me after shows and tell me how they have impacted them directly. I can only hope you enjoy them as much.
